With a foundation in biochemistry, Dr Hart’s interest in medicine was sparked through research opportunities and he subsequently decided to transition into the medical field as a result. His passion for surgery was solidified early in his medical training.
Throughout his medical training, Dr Hart excelled, earning numerous accolades, including the prestigious Bunny Angron and Bert Myburgh research prizes. He holds a Master of Medicine degree in Surgery, graduating cum laude from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), and is both a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
His surgical career includes a diverse range of experiences from his time at Chris Hani Baragwanath, Charlotte Maxeke academic hospital and Helen Joseph Hospitals as well as St Luke's Hospital in Ireland.

He has developed a particular expertise in abdominal and visceral surgeries, thriving in the intense and varied environment of General Surgery. This field spans a broad range of procedures — from managing cancers to performing minimally invasive surgeries like laparoscopic hernia repairs and gallbladder removals as well as endoscopies.
A survivor of thyroid cancer himself, Dr Hart is deeply motivated by personal experience and is committed to providing compassionate and meticulous care.
